With the support of the National Research Council’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) and WEtech Alliance, a local technology company has been awarded mentorship and financial assistance to take their business to the next level.
Tellbob, a company offering a consumer survey platform for mobile phones, has like many new startups, been working from home trying to keep expenses to a minimum. Today, a $200 per month desk subsidization has allowed Tellbob to set up shop in the new Downtown Windsor Business Accelerator located at 720 Ouellette Avenue. According to Tellbob President, Dan Renaud “The funding provides us with the infrastructure we need to get our business started. It saves us time and money and allows us to focus on sales and execution.”
Now, as a new tenant of the Downtown Windsor Business Accelerator, the Tellbob team is looking forward to the many advantages that this creative and collaborative space brings to their business. “We are extremely excited at the opportunity to share contacts, leverage event opportunities and the knowledge sharing that this space provides us”. It’s more than just office space.” says Tellbob President, Dan Renaud.
In addition to subsidized office space, Tellbob will also benefit from one-on-one mentorship from Entrepreneurs in Residence at WEtech Alliance. “Mentorship is a very valuable asset for entrepreneurs. We recognize that companies like Tellbob can benefit significantly from the knowledge, skills and expertise that our team provides.” says WEtech Alliance President & CEO, Karen Behune Plunkett.
Tellbob is among a number of new technology companies that have recently relocated to the downtown core. Like many, Renaud is a key supporter of technology and innovation in Windsor-Essex. “Technology and innovation helps our community diversify and grow. We have a wealth of knowledge and talent right here in Windsor, both in industry and from our schools. Supporting technology and innovation will help retain talent in our community and it will create jobs and growth in many areas.”
