We assist today’s entrepreneurs to launch new ventures, connect with academia, provide education and networking opportunities to accelerate business growth for small-to-medium enterprises, and serve as advocates for the region’s technology and innovation companies.

WEtech provides the tools, programs, resources and support that entrepreneurs and innovation and technology-centric companies require for sustaining growth, development and success.

Every successful professional sports team has a development program that cultivates talent from the earliest stages.  Taking a page from professional sports, WEtech aims to build a talent pipeline in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent which directs young people towards the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) from grade school, through high school and university—establishing mentoring partnerships and networks along the way with local industry executives and professionals that will lead to the retention of technology talent in the region through employment—thereby addressing the shortage of skilled workers, engineers, programmers and the like–or through opportunities for graduates to launch tech startups in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.

YKNOT Windsor-Essex's goal is to build a community of inspired young people and connect them with local opportunities, decision-makers, and industry so they can begin to grow and thrive in Windsor-Essex.

High School FIRST Robotics teams from around the world compete in the Windsor-Essex Great Lakes Regional that directs young people into Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and the skilled trades.

WEtech Alliance invited thirty high school students from across Windsor-Essex to participate in the ground-breaking Cleantech Academy – a weeklong program that introduces young people to local companies and organizations who operate in the clean tech sector or implement clean technology.

With generous support from the Government of Ontario through the Ontario 150 program – Cleantech Academy provides these students with a life changing experience and a road map to exciting careers in cleantech – a growing sector led by innovative businesses in Windsor-Essex.

Nerd Olympics brings together the Windsor-Essex tech community in a fun, team-building competition to challenge the mind & body.

Sixteen local Tech Company Teams compete in a series of 6 events and 2 Community Challenges with the top 3 finishers in each event receiving a 3D printed medal. The team with the most points at the end of competition, is then crowned Nerd Cup Champions for the year.

Nerd Olympics is also about giving back. The two 2017 Community Challenges saw over $3200 in cash and gift cards, and 385 supplies donated to the Welcome Centre Shelter and 47 blood donations made to Canadian Blood Services.

The 1st cross-border Hacking Health in the world, Hacking Health Windsor-Detroit breaks down barriers to healthcare innovation by bringing together IT and healthcare professionals across the US-Canada border to collaborate, dream up & design apps for patient-centric care.
