Hackforge | Open Data Awards Watch Party

Hackforge friend and data advocates the Canadian Open Data Society (CODS) will be presenting the 2025 Canadian Open Data Awards on Wednesday, March 5th. Broadcasting from Edmonton Alberta, CODS will be recognizing excellence in the field of open data by issuing up to 8 awards.

We wanted to get in on this action, but didn’t feel like visiting Edmonton in February, so we’re hosting a local watch party! Plus, we’re going to steal even more ideas and present an award for the Windsor-Essex Data Champion 2025! Who do you think it will be?

This event will be free, and it will be hybrid. However, due to space-constraints, the in-person portion will be by invitation only. We would love everyone else to join us on Discord this year, and perhaps in 2026 we’ll rent out a theatre. (Think your invite for the in-person session got lost in the mail? Drop us a line and we’ll see what we can work out)

• Doors and stream start at 6:15 PM
• Local award presented at 6:30 PM
• Awards show stream at 7 PM
• Wrap-up at 8 PM(ish)
