Description
Hiring a hands-on Full-Stack Developer who can also help lead the team day to day. You’ll ship features end-to-end (back end to front end, tests, release), keep quality high, and help us move the roadmap faster. Day to day, you’ll run a quick stand-up, unblock engineers, and own release checklists (with the occasional evening/weekend deploy). You’ll partner with product/design to tighten specs and scope, estimate work, and break it into clear, testable slices. You’ll also co-own reliability—performance tuning, observability, incident follow-up—and flag risks early while driving optimizations and continuous improvement.
Skills
Skills-wise, looking for someone fluent across our core stack: PHP (Laravel) with REST APIs on AWS (EC2/ALB/S3) and RDS/MySQL with real chops in performance and schema design, plus a solid React/JavaScript/CSS front end. React Native is a nice-to-have (you can grow into it). You’ve shipped production web/mobile apps and have had a hand in leading or tech-leading a small team. You’re strong in Laravel + MySQL (query tuning, indices, schema evolution) and React, comfortable in AWS, and okay with the occasional evening/weekend release. You communicate clearly, are a proven team player and can respect efficiency and clear problem solving. Extras that stand out: React Native in production, background jobs/queues, real observability (logs/metrics/traces), good security hygiene, cloud cost awareness, and experience in data-heavy products.
Qualifications
Qualifications-wise, looking for a hands-on full-stack developer who’s led small teams and shipped real product: 4+ years building production web/mobile apps and 2+ years in a lead/tech-lead seat. You’re strong in PHP/Laravel, REST APIs, and RDS/MySQL (schema design, indexing, query tuning), comfortable on AWS (EC2/ALB/S3; basic IaC/automation is a plus), and solid on the front end with React/JavaScript/CSS (React Native is a nice-to-have you can grow into). You communicate clearly, team player, dedicated to quality work and solid in practical approach problem solving. Bonus points for background jobs/queues, real observability (logs/metrics/traces), security hygiene, cloud cost awareness, and experience in data-heavy products. Most importantly, you’re proactive, detail-oriented, collaborative, and you turn clear scopes into on-time, high-quality releases.
Education Requirements
On education: We care more about ability and track record than diplomas. A CS degree or related diploma is great, but self-starters and strong learners are absolutely welcome—bootcamps, non-traditional paths, or “learned by building” all count. What matters is that you understand the fundamentals (data structures, SQL and schema design, HTTP/REST, basic networking, security hygiene), can show shipped work (links, repos, portfolios), and learn fast. Certifications (e.g., AWS) are a plus, not a requirement. If you can point to real features you’ve taken from design to production, explain your trade-offs, and how you keep improving your craft.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll build end to end—back end (Laravel/REST/MySQL) and front end (React/JS/CSS)—and provide the day-to-day support and leadership that keeps the team moving in the right direction. You’ll help lead releases (own checklists, unblock people, jump in when needed), and continuously improve processes where they’re slowing us down. You’ll work closely with product/design to ideate, turn ideas into clear specifications, and partner with the team to scope, estimate, and deliver on budget, always aiming for the right-sized solution that fits requirements and cost. Expect to champion best practices (code reviews, tests, observability, security hygiene) and a collaborative, team-first approach—sharing context, communicating early, and setting a steady cadence so we ship quality work on time.
