Reporting to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, the Manager of Information Technology coordinates and oversees IT operations and programs; as well as collaborates with the Management Team for the identification and implementation of priorities related to Information Technology services.
The Manager of Information Technology will provide technical and project management services for technical projects or technical components of broader initiatives. They will manage the daily IT services for the Centre, which include: hardware and software updates, network and file security, disaster recovery, and overall IT network security. In addition, they will manage IT related functions, such as: mobile devices, telecommunications systems, operating systems, network infrastructure, and database management software.
The Manager of IT will have proven technical skills relating to implementation and support of complex, secure network environments. Proven project management skills, as well as three years minimum in a role requiring the skills related to a consultant, business analyst, coordinator or manager. They must have proven ability to create technical and end-user documentation. Proven ability to automate repeatable IT management processes using software tools and scripting. Working knowledge of IBM server hardware, Cisco networking products, GoldCare, VMWare virtualization software, and Microsoft Exchange, are considered an asset.
Candidate must have strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and project management skills; be able to work independently, as a team leader or a team member depending on project requirements. Must be available to work flexible hours, as required.
The qualified candidate should possess post-secondary education, preferably in Information Technology. Minimum 3-year diploma program required, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Systems Technology, or Business Administration with an IT focus.
Microsoft certifications are an asset. Other business and technical certifications particularly the Project Management Professional (PMP) are an asset. Ten years’ experience delivering Information Technology services, preferred.
