The Town of Amherstburg is currently recruiting a dedicated, customer service focused and quality-oriented individual to fulfil the Service and Support Technologist role.
Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, the Service and Support Technologist provides solutions to problems that involve determining the most ideal and efficient resolution based on a number of possible alternatives deriving from technical knowledge and understanding of affected business areas.
Applicants must have completed a recognized 2-year college diploma in computer systems networking, computer programming or equivalent, with at least 2 years’ experience in network administration and desktop support. Certification in specific areas such as Cisco CCNA, ITIL or Microsoft MCSA, MCSE, considered an asset
Applicants must have completed a recognized 2-year college diploma in computer systems networking, computer programming or equivalent.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated working knowledge of backup, restore and disaster recovery procedures, working knowledge of Windows Server active directory and related server-based roles and services such as DNS and DHCP, with expert knowledge of Windows 10, current Microsoft Office platform, and remote access technologies. The ideal candidate will have effective interpersonal skills, strong organization skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
At least 2 years’ experience in network administration and desktop support.
