Lessons from an Entrepreneur

In this session, local entrepreneurs Rob Whent, Ali Al-Aasm and David Kirby will share lessons from real-world experiences across their own entrepreneurial journey. Following the session, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions to our entrepreneurs. All stages of entrepreneurs welcome.
David KirbyCo-CEO at Pharma Vision Technology David Kirby has over 20 years of financial leadership experience with 14 of those years in senior CFO and CEO positions with Fortune 500 and medium sized companies. David will  speak on his challenges as an entrepreneurs;  how to stabilizing a business during the difficult times and knowing when the time is right to exit!

Rob WhentWEtech Entrepreneur in Residence Rob established McGill Digital Solutions in 1987 with a clear vision of how technology could enhance the way we see the world around us.. His most recent start-up company, the Online Training & Education Portal (OTEP) specializes in building online tools and support for families of children with learning disabilities under the Think-2-Learn brand. Rob will share his trials and tribulations on achieving the success he’s experienced from start up to his current challenges.

Ali Al-AasmPartner at Red Piston Red Piston specializes in building innovative Mobile Apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry Playbook with a focus on clean interface design. They also design and develop Web sites and create motion graphics for mobile, web, and traditional media. Their location in Windsor, Ontario, Canada – directly across the river from Detroit, Michigan – gives them a powerful geographic advantage, allowing them to keep their costs low, while offering their clients the benefit of their more than 30 years of experience working with Fortune 500 brands.
