C4C Speaker Series | Belonging to the City: Repair, Resistance, and Reimagination

You’re invited to join us for the first event in our C4C Speaker Series – Belonging to the City: Repair, Resistance, and Reimagination, featuring Dr. Carly Ziter.
Raised in Windsor-Essex, Dr. Carly Ziter is an internationally recognized urban ecologist, Associate Professor at Concordia University, and member of Concordia’s Next Generation Cities Institute. Her research explores the intersections of urban nature, community resilience, and climate action.
In her talk, “Repair, Resistance, and Reimagination of Urban Nature for More Equitable Cities“, Dr. Ziter will discuss urban nature-based solutions in the Canadian context – how the management, restoration, and protection of urban nature can address societal challenges while providing benefits for human wellbeing and biodiversity. Focus will be given to the importance of collaborating across sectors and the powerful role of local citizens and communities in making change.
We look forward to an evening of thoughtful dialogue on how cities and communities can work together to create more resilient, connected, and ecologically vibrant places.
