Don Ward, GDG Organizer

I love technology, especially shiny new technology 🙂 In my current role, I build solutions to automate ML models and decision engines in prod for our Data Science team at Rocket Mortgage.

Prior to this role, I led all of the mobile development teams at Rocket Mortgage. We had a great team focused on delivering industry-leading mobile apps for our clients. Our team was responsible for all of Rocket Mortgage’ mobile apps.

In addition to my leadership skills, I have a software engineering background with Bachelors degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. I enjoy learning and continue to get certified in technologies like ML, Deep Learning and building on the AWS Cloud.

Outside of Rocket Mortgage, I lead both the Detroit and Windsor Google Developers Groups (GDG) with over 2,000 members. We recently celebrated hosting our 50th event for these groups. I enjoy leading user groups and have been doing it for over 10

years. One of my personal goals is to promote the local software developer community and help teach and learn new technology.

Lastly, I currently serve as a Google Developer Group mentor for the Canada region.
