Exclusive Pre-Conference Workshop: Explore Opportunities in EV Supply Chain
October 25, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
$50.00Invest WindsorEssex (IWE) has been continuing to work with public and private partners to help the region shift from the Automotive Capital of Canada to the Automobility Capital of Canada and next generation vehicle production.
Recent announcements such as the Canadian Automobility Hub, the LG/Stellantis battery project (NextStar Energy) and Dongshin Motech have demonstrated the success of this strategy. Alongside efforts to attract new investment in the EV space, IWE is also supporting local companies who want to position themselves to supply the rapidly growing EV industry.
IWE is hosting a one-day workshop to prepare local manufacturers and technology companies to take advantage of opportunities in the sustainable mobility sector. PEM Motion, the German company behind the Canadian Automobility Hub, will deliver this workshop.
PEM Motion and Canadian Automobility Enterprises will be providing a condensed version of their Fit 4 E-mobility program. The program begins with an overview of the ZEV market. After an examination of general market trends and the shift towards electric mobility, the speakers will discuss the difference between conventional and electric vehicles. This will be followed by an analysis of the supply chain and parallels between the development of North America and Europe.
After lunch, the speakers will take a deeper dive into the production process of several critical components that define electric vehicles, highlighting areas of potential innovation and overlap with conventional vehicle suppliers.
Components include:
- Battery Cells
- Battery Modules
- Battery Packs
- Fuel Cells
- Electric Motors
- Power Electronics
The day will close with a look at future developments and production trends that will define the successful adoption of ZEVs.

After graduating, Robin, became a consultant at PEM Motion, allowing him to combine his background as an electrical engineer with his passion for sustainability and future mobility. As the second local employee in Sacramento, he has enjoyed growing the office while bringing exciting new opportunities to clients in the rapidly expanding ZEV market.
SPEAKER: Rafal Bulgarski, General Manager, Automobility Enterprises

His green plant experience continued as he moved to California and started working for Tesla. During his time at Tesla, he worked in the supply chain, contributing his experience in the development of new vendors and complex processes. Eventually moving into internal production, he managed the production of Model S and X assembly. As production continued at work, so it did at home. Rafal and his wife Monika are fortunate to have four wonderful kids. Rafal’s inquisitive nature, dire need for a better tomorrow for our next generation, inspires his quest for viable green energy solutions. Currently, as the General Manager of Canadian Automobility Enterprises he continues his passion in EV manufacturing by developing new opportunities to bring innovative solutions to reality.
