School of Computer Science – Technical Workshop Series

This workshop explores the efficient allocation of duplicate copies of IoT data in cloud environments. As IoT devices continuously generate vast amounts of data, ensuring reliability, accessibility, and efficiency in cloud storage is crucial. The session will introduce participants to data replication strategies, challenges in IoT-cloud integration, and optimization techniques using the Harmony Search Algorithm. Attendees will gain insights into minimizing storage costs and access latency while improving data availability.

Workshop Outline:
  • Challenges in IoT data storage and retrieval
  • Introduction to the Harmony Search Algorithm
  • Implementing efficient replica allocation for IoT data
  • Comparative analysis of optimization techniques
  • Case study: Real-world applications of IoT data replication
  • Hands-on session: Simulating data replication in the cloud
