Jobs and Skills in Transition to a Net-Zero Economy
June 6, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
There is growing consensus supporting Canada’s transition to a net-zero emissions by 2050. However, there is less clarity around how we will get there or what the implications are for the labour force. What jobs will disappear? Which jobs will emerge? Which jobs will be transformed? What are the skills that will be required and what are the implications for education and training and for employers? Jobs and Skills in Transition to a Net-Zero Economy by the Smart Prosperity Institute, supported by the Diversity Institute (DI) and Future Skills Centre (FSC) uses innovative foresight tools to explore different scenarios and the implications for employers.
The Diversity Institute is hosting an event on June 6 to engage with authors of the recent report, experts from DI and FSC, and industry voices on how to create skills policy that enables clean and resilient growth across a range of net-zero emissions futures.
