March Break Camp

FREEIn this Multi Day Camp, students will learn how machine learning algorithms work, and their uses in day-to-day life!
About this event
This three-day virtual camp runs Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 1:30PM – 4:30PM EDT on March 14th, 15th and 16th.
We are excited to have you join us for THREE fun-filled days of coding! Each day will include a mix of unplugged (tech free!) and hands-on coding based activities. From creating games and designing characters using Scratch to creating their own website, learners will experience a wide range of computer science based activities!
All learners who register will be emailed a short fillable form to confirm their participation in virtual March Break camp.
For this workshop, an adult needs to be present in the house with the participant at all times.
Monday
Start Time: 1:30PM EDT
Unplugged Activity: Do the Robot
Catch em’ with Scratch: Keep score of how many falling items you can catch, moving with the arrow keys.

Unplugged Activity: Phishing
HTML and CSS: Build a one page website with HTML & CSS

Unplugged Activity: Stretch and Scuttle
Deconstructing Code: Practice interpreting and debugging code by viewing a finished project and building the code in groups.

Who is this for?
This workshop is for kids ages 9-12 + Guardian. Our workshops are designed to give learning experiences that are fun, engaging, empowering and inspirational. Through hands-on, collaborative, project-based learning, kids end the workshop having built something. This workshop experience is designed to help kids see technology in a whole new light – as a medium for self-expression, and as a means for changing the world.
Prerequisites:
None! This workshop is designed for beginners.
What’s Included:
- An awesome lead instructor and industry mentors!
Requirements:
- Learners must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the full duration of the workshop!
- You must bring your own laptop for which you have administrative permissions.
- Please remember to bring your own powercord. A mouse can come in handy too!
- You may be required to download some free software. After you sign up we will email detailed instructions.
