Ministry of Labour: Small Manufacturers Initiative
June 18, 2014 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
FREEMOL: Small Manufacturing Initiative EMC is pleased to announce a series of sessions with the Ontario Ministry of Labour.
The Ministry of Labour has found that one of the issues in small businesses is that the rate of worker injury is so low – estimated to be one injury in every 7 to 10 years – it can lead employers to conclude that adequate measures and precautions are in place.
The Ministry would like to help small manufacturers by providing additional guidance and support materials so that they can successfully implement their health and safety legal requirements.
The first in a series of sessions will cover 2 topics:
- The new mandatory health & safety awareness training for workers and supervisors
- Employment Standards issues – the basic requirements
EMC will be facilitating these events with MOL Program Coordinators. Open to all manufacturing companies with fewer than 50 employees, businesses will confidentially register with EMC for this free event. Free resources to assist companies in meeting their legal obligations will also be provided.
Event Details: If you are interested in attending one of these events, please RSVP to the EMC Field Service Provider listed below. Please feel free to pass this invitation along to other small manufacturers that might like to participate.
