This National Ladies Learning Code Day, we’re running two unique workshops designed to help women prepare themselves for the ever-changing digital landscape: Managing Data with SQL and Social Media Marketing (2-part workshop).

Why learn SQL?
SQL stands for Structured Query Language – it is the most universal and commonly-used language to communicate with databases. Companies such as Uber, Netflix, and Amazon use SQL to analyze data, but they aren’t alone! SQL is widely applicable – it’s not exclusive to coding and tech. By the end of this workshop, you will be able to manipulate data from databases. This is an incredibly valuable skill that you can apply back on the job across many different sectors and types of jobs, and which will add to your value as an employee.

Why learn Social Media Marketing?
Social media can be a crucial tool to improve your career. We’ll learn how to grow your online presence – personally or professionally – by building a loyal following & increasing engagement with the use of popular social media platforms. By the end of this workshop, you’ll know about top social media platforms and their uses – including tips and tricks for working with each (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok). You’ll also learn about possibility models, business accounts, and accessibility, as well as how to use Canva – a free graphic design tool – to create content for your social media accounts.

Who is this for?
Our Ladies Learning Code workshops offer adults hands-on, project-based learning experiences. They are designed to be an accessible and inclusive experience and to give beginners the skills and confidence they need to change their lives through the power of technology.
Prerequisites:
None! This workshop is designed for beginners.

Requirements:
You must bring your own laptop for which you have administrative permissions.
Please remember to bring your own powercord. A mouse can come in handy too!
