Last year, business confidence hit a record low in Ontario; is growth in the cards for businesses in 2024? Will labour shortages, inflation, and high interest rates continue to dampen Ontario’s economic outlook?

The Ontario Economic Report (OER) offers a unique perspective on the experiences of businesses across Ontario. The report is driven by data from our annual Business Confidence Survey and economic forecasts for the year ahead.

This year, it will provide insights into the unprecedented challenges many businesses continue to confront, including rising interest rates, constrained supply chains, labour shortages and expectations of further economic contraction.
