SBC presents: Navigating Bill 148: Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act 2017

n late 2017, the Government of Ontario passed the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017 which has been commonly referred to as Bill 148. Bill 148 makes some of the most significant changes to Ontario’s employment laws in over a decade and a half. It changes how businesses in this province keep their records, schedule and pay their employees, and administer various benefits. These changes will impact almost every business in Ontario that has one or more employees.
In order to help you prepare for these changes, the WindsorEssex Small Business Centre will be hosting a one hour presentation with Jeffrey Patterson from the law firm of Kavanaugh, Milloy. During this presentation, you will learn about the changes made to Ontario’s employment laws and how you can navigate the new changes such as the new paid personal emergency leave and scheduling restrictions.
