Succession Planning – Exiting Your Business Successfully (In Person Event in Chatham\Kent)

Selling and succession of your business, and why? The presentation will go through involuntary and voluntary reasons you would sell your business. The objective is to get business owners or potential business owners to start thinking about their exit from the business in advance of having to sell and maximizing it’s value while taking care of key stake holders – employees, customers and suppliers. The presentation will also touch on various tax considerations when selling or planning to sell your business ensuring the owner keeps as much of the value as possible and not leaking to much to the Canada Revenue Agency.

The Presenter – Chris Anderson is a Tax Partner in BDO Canada’s Chatham, Ontario, office, with over 16 years of professional experience providing tax services to clients. Chris provides tax planning and consulting services to clients in a wide range of industries, including agriculture, manufacturing, transportation and logistics. He has successfully assisted a number of clients with sales of their businesses as well as succession and estate planning. Chris is a member of BDO’s Domestic Canadian tax team. He is involved in the community through being the past President and Treasurer of a local area daycare network. Chris is involved with coaching his children’s sports teams in Chatham-Kent.
