TechBoost: Email Marketing with Mailchimp (LaSalle)

Generously funded by a Libro Credit Union Prosperity Grant, The TechBoost Program supports the growth and development of small businesses in Windsor-Essex by providing affordable training in information technology tools and products for business. TechBoost is an initiative of Hackforge, supported by the WindsorEssex Small Business Centre.

Skill Level: Beginner Audience: Owners or employees of small businesses who want to communicate with a list of clients and customers on a regular basis through creative email campaigns.

Pain Points:

Do you need an easy way to communicate news, updates and information about your products or services to your customers?
Do you need to send emails to each new customer but want that process to be automated?
Do you want to create beautiful emails but don’t know how?

Goal: By the end of this workshop, you’ll understand how Mailchimp works, what the best practices are and be on your way to building your own subscriber base and email campaigns.

We’ll cover:

• How to create a email sign-up form
• Manage a subscriber list
• Design email campaigns
• Send automated emails

Why Take This Workshop: Email is almost 40 times more effective than Facebook and Twitter combined in helping your business acquire new customers. Email service providers like Mailchimp allow to to track who opens your email and who clicks on the links within those emails.

Materials: If you would like to follow along using a laptop computer during this workshop, please feel free to do so. A computer is not required, however.

Participants of this workshop are also welcome to attend any of our Open TechBoost Nights at Hackforge where you can bring your laptop and try out new tools in a casual environment with other business owners.
