TechBoost: Up and Running with Shopify

Generously funded by a Libro Credit Union Prosperity Grant, The TechBoost Program supports the growth and development of small businesses in Windsor-Essex by providing affordable training in information technology tools and products for business. TechBoost is an initiative of Hackforge, supported by the WindsorEssex Small Business Centre.

Audience: For owners or employees of small businesses who want to get started with selling their products online with one of the most trusted, affordable and powerful e-commerce tools on the market.

Pain Points:

Does the idea of setting up your online store seem way too time-consuming? 
Are you worried you might not set up your online store correctly? 
Do you want a rundown of how to get your store up and running and how to maximize the features available on Shopify?

We’ll cover: 
• How to choose and customize your Shopify theme 
• How to add your financial details to get paid 
• How to add and manage products 
• How to integrate other applications 
• How to organize how you ship product, manage inventory and observe taxes

Goal: By the end of this workshop, you’ll have your Shopify account set up and know how to choose a theme, customize your theme, add products and manage shipping.

Small businesses simply can’t reply on their local communities alone to support or grow their businesses. If you’re selling products, you need to be online. Good news is, tools like Shopify make it easy and fun too!

Materials: Please bring a laptop computer and charger if you would like to follow along.

Participants of this workshop are also welcome to attend any of our Open TechBoost Nights at Hackforge where you can bring your laptop and try out new tools in a casual environment with other business owners.
