The Future (of Work) is Now: Looking Ahead to 2030

September 9, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

The way work is currently organized needs a fundamental rethink. What transformations do our organizations need to make to see real change?

an insightful discussion with the Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship (BII+E) at Ryerson University where we will look at what employment might look like in 2030. In this session, Brookfield Institute will share research on how a wide range of complex trends from automation to climate change may intersect to impact the Canadian labour market in the next 10–15 years, and present select results from our occupational forecast and skill analysis. We will explore the occupations and industries projected to grow, the skills that emerged as foundational for the coming decade, and how these projected changes may affect different workers based on current employment. Finally, we will share actionable insights focused on what policymakers, program designers, researchers, and others can do to support current and new workers in remaining resilient and navigating the future of work.
