UofW-Make It & Take It Workshop #4

This workshop is suitable for all abilities, we welcome beginners with no previous experience of laser cutting and etching. Full design support and technical help will be given.
Workshop #4: Make A Colour Changing Artist Panel
The Take-Away: You will produce a colour changing, back-lit, wall mountable laser cut work of art from a wood “Artist panel”. After a brief introduction to our new Epilogue 40 Watt laser cutter, we will get right into how to prepare your design for laser cutting using either Inkscape or Adobe Illustrator. After preparing our designs we will go through the steps of setting up the laser cutter and begin cutting. Once we are done with the laser cutter we will finish up with installing a diffusion panel, a slow-fade RGB LEDs, a battery holder and an ON/OFF switch. Et Voila!
In preparation, please bring your laptop with Inkscape or Adobe Illustrator already installed as well as a design you would like to cut out. Inskape is a free alternative to Adobe Illustrator and works well with our laser cutter.
