WEEDC presents: Emerging Technologies in Automation Conferenence and Trade Show

October 31, 2017 @ 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

Windsor-Essex, Ontario, Canada is an international hub for automation with over 300 companies involved in the engineering, designing and production of cutting-edge industrial manufacturing systems across many sectors.
The region is now looking towards the future trends in automation including the development and production of connected and autonomous vehicles. The creation of new technologies through collaboration with private industry, government and educational institutions will deliver and adapt to future systems.
During last year’s Emerging Technologies Conference, Valiant Corporation presented a novel concept – how to use connected and guided vehicle to speed up the manufacturing of airplanes. On July 31, 2017, two autonomous vehicles left Windsor’s riverfront and successfully drove themselves through the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel, into Michigan and back to Canada, completing a North American first. Automation is rapidly changing the world around us, what are the opportunities for Canada and the Windsor-Essex region?
