Windsor Hackforge Smart Garden Workshop: Soil Sensors & the Internet of Things

Take your indoor garden to the next step with this all-levels workshop. Learn to create a device that will tell you when your plants are thirsty by turning on a light, sending a text, or tweeting! At the end, you will have a full, functional Particle Photon kit to take home.
The particle photon is a compact arduino-like microcontroller that connects to the cloud. You can write programs for it using a web browser or a smartphone app. When your program is ready, you can upload it to your Photon over the Wifi.    Recommended age: 14+    Some background experience with the Arduino platform is encouraged but not necessary. Please bring a laptop and smart phone!
