TeCK Week YQG Returns March 21-27, 2022

Reuniting the Regional Tech Ecosystem with Virtual Moments

TeCK Week YQG is set to return digitally this year, March 21st-27th offering a collaborative series of events spearheaded by WEtech Alliance. The week brings together tech leaders, founders, talent, researchers, investors, expats, and the broader community.

This year the week will be delivered entirely online and feature a number of high-profile speakers and guests including Anthony Di Iorio, Co-Founder of Ethereum and Founder and CEO of Decentral, Susan R. Crystal, US Consul General, U.S. Consulate General Toronto, Canada, Duncan Stewart, Director of Research, Deloitte Canada and Kelly Hoey, Networking Expert, Speaker and Author.

Now in its fifth year, this week-long event is the largest regional technology festival dedicated to tech, talent and community.

“WEtech Alliance is thrilled to bring TeCK Week YQG to our clients, partners and regional tech community,” said President and CEO of WEtech Alliance, Yvonne Pilon. ““The pandemic has highlighted just how important a vibrant, innovative technology industry is to our society, economy and daily lives. Although we had hoped to be back IRL this year, the virtual platforms we’ve adopted gives us an opportunity to bridge the urban-rural divide by bringing programming to all corners of Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent and beyond.”

The week is free-to-attend and gives unique access to experts and thought-leaders who will be sharing knowledge on subjects such as emerging technologies and trends, startup growth, mobility, tech talent and community innovation.

Join WEtech Alliance and Southwestern Ontario Regional Innovation Centre partners for an evening virtual networking session designed to connect women entrepreneurs, leaders and business professionals to build international networks and connections and create innovative partnerships and solutions to help us continue moving forward together.

Utilizing Remo’s innovative networking platform, we will be offering women entrepreneurs and professionals a casual and fun evening of networking facilitated by Networking Expert and Author, Kelly Hoey. Remo’s web-video platform allows people to have face-to-face networking online just like in-person events that build meaningful relationships and conversations.

The event will also feature remarks by Consul General Susan R. Crystal and a fireside chat with Spellbound Founder and CEO, Christina York moderated by Aislyn Laurent.

Over the course of three decades, Anthony has launched numerous companies and invested tens of millions of dollars in technology companies primarily in the blockchain sector.

In late 2013 Anthony funded & co-founded Ethereum, the decentralized smart contract platform that has a $400 billion market cap. Currently, he is the founder and CEO of Decentral Inc., a Toronto-based innovation hub & software development company focused on decentralized technologies. Decentral is the maker of Jaxx Liberty, a digital asset platform that has empowered millions of users with the tools they need to control their digital lives.

Well-versed in cryptocurrency, blockchain, finance and business, he has advised a number of companies, and as the inaugural Chief Digital Officer for the TMX Group, the parent company of The Toronto Stock Exchange, he explored ways to make exchanges operate faster and cheaper through blockchain technology.

Anthony has shared his visionary insight with hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Since 2012, he has given numerous lectures, speeches, keynote addresses and interviews, and even hosted over 100 technology events. He was a lecturer at the University of Nicosia’s Master’s program in Digital Currencies and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law teaching “Cryptocurrencies, Crypto Ventures and the Future of the Exchange.”

In the past few years, Anthony further distinguished himself as the winner of the EY Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year Award, as a winner of the FinTech Leader of the Year Award, and made Toronto Life’s list of the 50 Most Influential people.

Our wide-ranging conversation will cover Anthony’s career to date, as well as his insights on the “Perfect Formula” for Entrepreneurs and Leaders looking to grow.

Procurement Assistance Canada (PAC) Ontario Region and partners will host a virtual Innovation Information Forum (IIF) for the Windsor-Essex community. The IIF is a great opportunity to connect directly with federal officials and local partners in the innovation ecosystem.
