TECH VOTE powered by Elections Canada

There is one goal of Tech Vote and it’s to encourage our regional Tech Community to go out and vote in the 2019 Federal Election. No events are planned, however keep an eye out on social media for updates on useful tool and tech to assist you leading up to voting day.

A special Twitter Chat will be held on Tuesday, October 1st starting at 12pm where we will be talking Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship with Federal Candidates from #YQG and #CKont.

TECH ENABLED

Technology is everywhere, and it’s becoming more and more integrated into both our personal and professional lives. Even if your business isn’t producing a tech product, using the right tech effectively can help you become more versatile, sustainable, and most importantly, profitable.

Tech Enabled will gather 100+ SME business owners, tech enablers, tech lovers, press/media at our annual Tech Show in partnership with the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce. This is your chance to hear from acclaimed speakers, connect with the local tech community to help advance your business.

TECH TALENT powered by Workforce WindsorEssex

Attracting and retaining tech talent has always been one of the primary constraints on tech companies but as ‘traditional’ companies are becoming tech companies themselves this is becoming a more universal conundrum.

Tech Talent Day will look at building, growing and recognizing our tech talent pipeline including highlighting local tech employees and employers. The day will also feature the first-ever STEM Fair at St. Clair College featuring keynote speaker, Jay Flores, Global STEM Ambassador from Rockwell Automation and FIRST Robotics advocate, as well as STEM resources for Teachers, Parents and Students.

The world is changing, and we want Windsor (Canada) to be ready. We’ve partnered with Canada Learning Code and their Code Mobile to make sure that Windsorites, particularly women, girls and people with disabilities, indigenous youth and newcomers – have access to the knowledge they need to prosper in our digital.

Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to get introduced to world of coding. The day will also include a “Diversity and Inclusion” breakfast featuring keynotes speakers from across Canada, leading the “D+I” conversation.

Given the proximity and the interconnectedness of the Windsor-Essex Region to Southeastern Michigan, mobility is an area of great opportunity, especially given the importance of the automotive sector, along with the growing automation cluster in the Windsor-Essex Region.

Join us Friday, October 25th for a day dedicated to exploring the world of mobility. Hear from industry experts and companies who are transforming the way we move people and goods. Have your chance to experience the future of mobility with our Mobility Pitch Challenge, Mobility Speaker Series and our very own Mobility Showcase featuring Canada’s largest publicly available Virtual Reality CAVE.

TECH AWARDS

The YQG Tech Awards powered by (TBD) are a fun, informal way of recognizing technology innovators of all stages for their achievement and success in our community. There’s no dress code and no speeches to give. We’ll be honouring all of our Tech Award winners with a unique, Windsor-made Tech Award created with the help of our #YQG tech friends.The YQG Tech Awards provide a fantastic opportunity to showcase the impactful leaders in the local tech sector and to strengthen networks within the tech community.  Close to 150 people will attend, comprising tech entrepreneurs, CEOs and tech start-ups, plus corporate advisors, investors, tech consultants and media.

This year’s award will piggyback on the 4th Annual Nerd Olympics “Nerd Cup” Ceremony and will be followed by a special STEM Movie at Lakeshore Cinemas.
