MAY 3, 2012 (Windsor, ON) Talented Duo Invited to Make a Pitch! Ontario’s Stilt Guys (Mark Lefebvre and Kyle Sipkens) announce they’re about to walk tall onto the popular CBC television series “Dragons Den”. After clearing the national auditions hurdle, held in Windsor at the Chamber of Commerce headquarters, a taping date is set for Tuesday, May 8 in Toronto.
So what is the innovative product they will try to sell to the five dragons? “More Stilt Guys!” is the long and tall answer from veteran performer Mark Lefebvre, “Entering our ninth season together we are not only entertaining crowds at major festivals and events but also delivering unique corporate brand support which is the key to our continued success.” Kyle Sipkens whose home base is now Toronto after graduating from the University of Windsor’s School of Dramatic Art concurs “Lately we’ve diversified our business model by animating experiential marketing campaigns, national conferences and product launches. Our clients can see all ages and demographics responding to our larger than life charm.“ He also says “And the media loves us! We make a big and lasting impression, that’s for sure.”
While there are no guarantees that any of the uber-successful dragons will green light a deal, Sipkens remains confident. “We think Arlene Dickinson will react positively because she’s all about marketing.” Additionally “Jim Treliving who owns Boston Pizza should climb aboard due to the fact that we have a promotional deal in the works with Molson Coors. This recent development is our ace in the hole – beer and pizza is a natural!”
Even if the Stilt Guys’ segment makes it to air next season and the dragons all say “I’m out” Lefebvre knows it will have been more than worth taking a shot. “It’ll be a national infomercial for us. They’ve estimated the value at somewhere close to $250,000 and who knows where the exposure will lead us?”
Says Sipkens “We’ve never been ones to shy away from a challenge having performed for thousands at Canada Day in London England, the World BBQ Championship last year in Memphis, and Superbowl XL to name just a few career highlights. We are the product we’re pitching – the Stilt Guys ‘brand’, and if we have fun and let them see our personalities then good things will happen.”
“I like our chances.” Lefebvre sums up “Most of our busker friends are trying to get on Canada’s Got Talent and here we are landing a spot on a show for entrepreneurs and inventors. At the very least we’ll be something different and entertaining. Stay tuned!” For more information, visit www.stiltguys.com. You can also follow their ‘Tall Tales’ on Twitter, Facebook and Youtube.
