InnovationScan: A pilot showcase program for Canadian companies in the U.S.: 30 spots available. (apply before April 5)
The Government of Canada is offering growth-oriented Canadian companies a complimentary opportunity to present to and connect with investors, corporations, entrepreneurs and other potential partners throughout the United States, all without leaving the office. A new Internet program, InnovationScan, will enable companies to deliver targeted presentations to potential business partners, and connect with interested parties. The website will be promoted by the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service in multiple markets across the U.S., and will showcase innovative Canadian companies from start-ups to medium sized organizations in sectors such as IT & Communications, Biotechnology & Life Sciences, Renewable Energy & Cleantech, Security & Defence and Emerging Technologies. This is a new and valuable opportunity for Canadian companies. We encourage those interested in participating to visit www.connect2canada.com/innovationscan. Make certain to click on the “Showcase Your Company” link for the application form and for more information. Due to the anticipated strong interest in this program, it is recommended to submit the application as soon as possible. The deadline for initial applications is April 5, 2013. Note that the company presentations currently on the website are examples for demonstration purposes only – the site will go live to U.S. contacts in May, 2013. Presenters will provide the following material on their company and technology for use on the website:

Of the 24 spaces available, there is only 1 left for this fifth Ontario wireless mission to CTIA (www.ctiawireless.com). This year’s mission to CTIA had 20 participating companies which gave our mission an 89% satisfaction rating. Next year’s mission will have 24 companies with registration fees per company from $2,400. The program includes turn key exhibit space within the Ontario pavilion as well as several value added benefits. The evaluation of the 2012 program was best summarized by one participating Ontario executive who said: “The professionalism and position of the pavilion was far superior that we could have done on our own. Ontario at MIFA (International Animation Film Market show), June 12-14, 2013, Annecy, France
MIFA is a key event for the world’s animation industry. The 2012 edition of the show attracted participation by 2,500 delegates, 470 exhibitors and 290 international buyers from 63 countries. Among the international buyers / distributors were: France Télévisions, M6, cartoon Network and Canal + (France); ZDF (Germany); The Walt Disney Company (US); BBC (UK); RAI and MTV Italia (Italy), EBS (South Korea), RTBF (Belgium); NHK Enterprises (Japan); and Turner Broadcasting Systems Europe. The show is of interest to computer animation companies, animation software, digital media marketing, video gaming and visual effects). For second year in a row, Ontario invites you to be part of the Ontario trade mission to Siggraph 2013. The program is open to sixteen Ontario-based companies in the computer graphics and interactive technology sectors. The program includes turn key exhibit space within the Ontario pavilion as well as several value added benefits. The evaluation of the 2012 program was best summarized by one participating Ontario executive who said: “We secured a distribution agreement ($400,000) that will give us access to the US market”. June 18-21, 2013: Ontario Showcase at CommunicAsia 2013, Singapore (7 of 10 spots available)
The Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation invites you to join the Ontario Showcase within the Canadian Pavilion at CommunicAsia 2013, Asia’s premier ICT event. CommunicAsia is the most established international ICT event of its kind in Asia, attracting about 40,000 people annually. Ontario has secured 84sqm of display space for up to ten Ontario companies within the Canadian pavilion, as well as a dedicated meeting room for participants. There will also be hospitality, networking and WiFi facilities. A targeted business-to-business program will be organized for participating companies with pre-qualified buyers, decision-makers, strategic partners, distributors and resellers (as appropriate). Sept. 24-26: Ontario IT Security mission to ASIS (Chicago): 2 spaces left (6 taken)
ASIS (www.asisonline.org) is the premier security event attracting more than 23,000 security professionals and hosting the largest marketplace of security technologies and services. Of the 8 spaces available, there are 6 left for this fifth Ontario IT security mission to ASIS. Last year’s mission to ASIS was ranked by the 8 participating companies with a 92% satisfaction rating. The program includes turn key exhibit space within the Ontario pavilion as well as several value added benefits. The evaluation of the 2012 program was best summarized by one participating Ontario executive who said: “At ASIS with Ontario, I have identified opportunities in the U.S. Ports; mining operations in Ecuador; public security in Colombia, Mexico and Costa Rica; public safety in Canada and many more.
