Calgary and Waterloo Region (December 5, 2013) – The 6th annual Canada 3.0 conference will be held May 26th – 28th, 2014 at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre in Calgary, Alberta. TRTech and the Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN) will co-host the conference, which is being held in Western Canada for the first time.
Canada 3.0 was founded by CDMN in 2009 and has developed into Canada’s largest annual digital media conference. The 2014 conference will specifically focus on the role of digital technologies and innovations and how they enable one of Canada’s largest industry sectors – energy. This focus is reflected in the 2014 conference theme Digital Innovation: enabling the Energy Economy. The 2014 conference will bring together digital technology innovators and energy leaders to address issues, activities and collaboration opportunities in two of Western Canada’s strongest industries.
Rob Tasker, President & CEO of TRTech, a hub with the CDMN, says, “We’re very pleased to co-host Canada 3.0 with our long-time partner, CDMN. The energy and resource sectors are the largest contributor to the Western and Canadian economies; our focus for 2014 is to strengthen the cooperation between the energy, environmental and ICT sectors to increase development, adoption and export of innovation.”
”The Canada 3.0 conference will demonstrate how digital technologies can enhance productivity for the energy and resource sectors, while also showcasing the capabilities available to companies across Canada through our network of 26 hubs,” said Kevin Tuer, Managing Director of CDMN. “At the same time, it will highlight Canadian capabilities in digital media to the large international audience who will be attending the event.”
Canada 3.0 2014 will explore the key issues facing the energy industry – environmental performance and monitoring, productivity and skilled labour shortages – and how Information & Communications Technology (ICT) innovations and solutions can help to solve them. The conference will feature keynote presentations, a global forum with selected international partners, themed workshops and a student program. ICT and energy companies will also have the opportunity to exhibit and network during the event.
Canada 3.0 2014 is made possible through the support of our sponsors and partners: our Title Sponsor – TELUS; our National Business Network Sponsor – June-Warren Nickles – Energy Group, and our Founding Sponsors – TECTERRA, Cybera and Wavefront; and our Foundation Sponsor – Alberta Innovates – Technology Futures.
The event program, speakers and registration information will be announced in the coming months on the conference web site (www.canada30.ca) and via social media and other media releases and advertisements.
