We would like to share an important initiative with you, a movement to bring National Entrepreneurs’ Day to Canada.  This endeavor was initiated by fellow entrepreneurs who believe entrepreneurs deserve a day to celebrate our hard work and incredible achievements. They have started a petition at www.entrepreneurshipday.ca for those interested in supporting this movement; we encourage you to take a quick moment to sign it.

Launched July 2014, this initiative is looking to both powerhouses, government and corporate, to join the mission and support entrepreneurship – all in the name of powering the Canadian economy. Already hundreds of businesses have already pledged their support… and we’re just getting started!

This movement was initiated by Joelle Parenteau, founder of EpicPerks, a membership group for entrepreneurs and small businesses to access previously restricted corporate rates, in partnership with HealthEdge, an innovative group purchasing solution that brings affordable health plans to entrepreneurs.

MISSION:
Our goal is to gather 10,000 supporters and submit an official petition to the House of Commons – to secure government support and give entrepreneurs the credit they have earned through blood, sweat and tears.  Not only do we want to celebrate entrepreneurs with this official day, but we want to promote widespread awareness by harnessing partnerships with innovation centers, business groups, startup accelerators, schools, government, and in the media.  We want people to know the opportunity is there to be your own boss and to turn your dream job into a reality.
