Windsor, ON, June 12, 2015 – Windsor180, presented by YKNOT Windsor-Essex and WEtech Alliance, is using talent, tech, and community to invite community leaders and emerging talent to reimagine our region.
Windsor180 Week, running June 12-19, will be comprised of themed events showcasing a different aspect of community engagement, including music, volunteerism, civic engagement, recreation and entrepreneurship. Highlighted events include Windsor Ska Revival (June 12 – The Nefidovs), Give Night (June 13 – Carrousel of the Nations), Sidewalk Chalkerville (June 15 – Vanguard), Youth Entrepreneur Business Exchange (June 16 – UWindsor EPICentre), Sandblast Dodgeball (June 17 – Rose City Sports and Social Club) and Rebooting Windsor tech panel (June 18 – Hackforge).
The weeklong series will cumulate in the Windsor180 Summit June 19, 2015 from 1-6 p.m. at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts. Keynote speakers Dave Wilkin, founder of Ten Thousand Coffees, and Keanin Loomis, President of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, are joining 10 community organizations and influencers in a conference designed to bring young talent closer to our region with local knowledge, modern skills and the right networks.
Breakout session presenting organizations include: WEtech Alliance, City of Windsor, Workforce WindsorEssex, Detroit Bus Company & Detroit Experience Factory, WindsorEats, LucasWorks!, Leadership Windsor/Essex, EPICentre, Hackforge and Pathway to Potential. More than 20 local experts from a cross-sector of industries will network with attendees during Coffee Circle roundtable discussions.
