What is ENVIRODRONE LTD?

ENVIRODRONE LTD. (EnviroDrone) is a commercial drone (Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) / Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)) that performs a variety of professional services from surveying, mapping, city-planning, mining, forestry, agriculture, volume calculations, scientific research, wildlife protection and much more. A complete aerial geospatial technology for georeferenced orthophotography and 3D modelling. Prepared for use with multiple sensors, ranging from e.g. cameras to thermal imaging, multi and hyper spectral, lidar and magnetometer. The production of digital terrain models and digital surface models for geographic information systems is prepared by our partnering software.

What Products/services do you provide?

EnviroDrone is creating the world’s safest, and secure drone operation platform. Our cloud-based platform features fully-automated drone control with manual drag-and-drop hand flying from your smart phone or tablet. Control is coupled with real-world safety features to include real-time and near-time manned and unmanned aircraft overlays with aircraft avoidance alerts and traffic advisories, and well as airspace advisory warnings on control airspace. Airspace within the application feature 100% regulation compliance and includes temporary flight restrictions, active military operation areas and restricted airspace. Our UAS is aware of everything around you, but will keep you fully updated and focused on you mission. 

The EnviroDrone system includes mission planning and flight software that runs on any standard laptop or mobile device. Using an intuitive interface you are able to outline the area you want surveyed, or plan and exact route for the drone. Unpacking the drone and getting ready for launch takes less than 2 minutes. When it’s time, launch the drone and being working. Or rather, the EnviroDrone works for you; activate the survey mode and watch it cover the area you’ve specified with the software. When it’s time to land, our system gives you the option to land in an assisted mode where the drone is guided manually for pinpoint landings. This enables the EnviroDrone to land where other drone can’t. Instantaneously, all the photos and data from your flight are uploaded (via cloud), and you’re in possession of a goldmine of knowledge.

With our software, you’re able to analyze fields, forests, quarries, and other environments down to astonishing precise detail. If analyzing task seems daunting, we’re always glad to help you unleash the power of your data. Also, we are able to provide full consulting services for a variety of industrial applications if this suits our customers needs.

Anything new and exciting happening within your company?

ENVIRODRONE® is working on a social enterprise project with Kashmir World Foundation (KWF) to protect sea turtle nests. ENVIRODRONE’s work on sea turtles focuses on five species: green, hawksbill, loggerhead, leatherback and olive ridley. Human activities have tipped the scales against the survival of these ancient mariners. Nearly all species of sea turtle are classified as endangered. Slaughtered for their eggs, meat, skin and shells, sea turtles suffer from poaching and over-exploitation. They also face habitat destruction and accidental capture in fishing gear. Climate change has an impact on turtle nesting sites. It alters sand temperatures, which then affects the sex of hatchlings.

ENVIRODRONE® aims to conserve the sea turtles along their migratory pathways – by working with Kashmir World Foundation to decrease bycatch, by protecting critical nesting beaches, and by raising awareness so that local communities will protect sea turtles and their nests. ENVIRODRONE® will be protecting sea turtle nests at Eglin Air Force Base during their annual hatching. The drone will fly fully autonomous missions along the beach twice each night looking for turtle nests and recording their locations. Technical challenge will include automated target detection. ENVIRODRONE® is committed to stop the decline of sea turtles and work for the recovery of the species. We work to secure environments in which both turtles—and the people that depend upon them—can survive into the future.

How did you come up with your company name?

ENVIRO (Environmental) –  The biophysical environment is the biotic and abiotic surrounding of an organism or population, and consequently includes the factors that have an influence in their survival, development and evolution.

DRONE (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) – An aircraft without a human pilot aboard. Its flight is controlled either autonomously by onboard computers.

ENVIRODRONE “an aerial geospatial technology for the environment” – The EnviroDrone is able to study the environment, and the solution of environmental problems. We focus on design and technology for improving environmental quality in every aspect. We work on subjects like the understanding of earth processes, evaluating energy systems, pollution control and mitigation, natural resource management, and the effects of global climate change.

What tech gadget or resource (i.e. blog, magazine, online tool, app, Youtube video, etc) has played a role in growing your company?

We feature a blog on our website where important information about the company is released. These blogs range from recent aerial studies, upcoming events, new technology, etc..  Once the EnviroDrone is released to the consumer market, we will be launching a YouTube channel to provide technical information about the product. We will provide workshops to get customers more involved with the surveying methodology and best practices regimes.
