Saturday, January 30th, from 9AM to 9PM, Hackforge invites Windsor to write their first line of code! We are looking for some folks to help us throughout the day.
Hello World!
We want to demystify coding and give some insight into how programming helps builds the world around us. We hope this might give folks the bug to want to learn more.
How it Works:
People will drop by Hackforge and sit down with a programmer and a computer to type out a line (or a few). We will have more information about a variety of languages that are used in different industries and practices.
We will be offering classes throughout the day for those who want to get their hands dirty and write more than one line.
How You Can Help:
Programmers:
You will have a shift where you will sit with people who want to write their first line of code. They will join you at your computer for 5 minutes or so. In a text editor, you will have them write out a simple line (or a few, depending on the language) and see the result! We can help you come up with the best, simple format. Feel free to work on your own projects or work during quiet periods.
General Volunteers:
We are looking for people to help around the space throughout the day, including greeting folks coming in and giving them information for the event.
If you’re interested in this event, please drop me a line!
