What is Tactile Vision Graphics?

My husband and I run a company which produces graphic design, with a difference. Everything is printed in braille with tactile graphics for use by people with a vision impairment.

How did you come up with your company name?

We enable vision-impaired people to access information which would normally only be available through vision. Graphics have always been a barrier to vision-impaired people and we provide tactile depictions of them.

What Products/services do you provide?

We produce floor plans, site maps and documents for companies who request custom production. We produce braille business cards, calendars, greeting cards, maps and children’s books.

Anything new and exciting happening within your company?

Throughout the month of June, we are running an Indiegogo campaign – Help Us Bring Braille to Everyone – to manufacture a unique 3D printer which will enable us to provide greater access to information for vision-impaired people. The applications are limitless.

What tech gadget or resource (i.e. blog, magazine, online tool, app, Youtube video, etc) has played a role in growing your company?

We have found that a combination of search engine optimization, keeping our website dynamic and word of mouth marketing by satisfied customers has been the secret to our company growth.

What idea do you have to help accelerate our local Tech community?

We are building a 3D printer with the added capability of producing braille for signage and labelling.
