Learn the best practices, tips, tricks, do’s and don’ts of managing your social media presence from local marketing experts and have your questions answered by members of the WEtech Alliance Social Media Superheroes, a group of 30+ local Social Media super-users that represent a cross-section of the Community, with a combined social media following of well over 100,000. The group meets regularly to discuss social media best practices, tips, tricks & pet peeves; develop & implement local initiatives such as the #YQG regional hashtag and annual Social Media Day event; and assists local non-profits, businesses & special interests develop & grow their Social Media presence.
The session will be led by WEtech’s Director of Programs & Marketing, John-Marc Vachon and will also feature Matt Senechal, Marketing/Online Content Administrator for Motor City Community Credit Union, Duane Acorn, Senior Manager, Media Sales for Windsor Star and Harp Arora, Principal at Sedona Communications.

MEET THE EXPERTS
John-Marc Vachon is the Director of Programs & Marketing for WEtech Alliance, an organization dedicated to helping nurture entrepreneurship, foster innovation & accelerate tech sector growth in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent. He is also the Chief Marketing Officer for Windsor Rock Gym, Windsor’s only purpose built rock climbing gym. His past work as Director of Marketing for Wendy’s Windsor-Essex has won both local & National Awards, including recognition of his locally created Community Connection Program, which has since been adopted in several other regions across the country.

Harp Arora is a brand and social media consultant helping clients get noticed. She advises organizations on how to deliver clear and compelling messages that get heard – in both the digital and offline space.
Before launching Sedona Communications in 2003, Harp held a number of corporate marketing roles, most recently as Director of Marketing Communications at a Fortune 500 financial services firm.
Harp offers a unique perspective that blends corporate, academic, and agency expertise. She’s taught marketing, branding and communications courses at University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier in the undergrad and MBA programs. She holds an MBA and a BA in Psychology.
As the leader of the Windsor Star sales team, Duane Acorn helps Windsor-Essex businesses achieve their marketing goals through digital and traditional advertising solutions, including Search Engine Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Web Design, and more.
With numerous certifications from Google, including completion of the 2016-17 Specialist Challenge, and Inbound Certification from HubSpot, Duane continues to hone his digital marketing skills to help the Windsor Star continue its transformation into one of Windsor’s leading digital marketing agencies.
A Windsorite born and raised, Matt Senechal (@MatthewSenechal) is the Digital Marketing Specialist at Motor City Community Credit Union (@MotorCityCCU) and Part-Time Instructor at St. Clair College. He is often called a “social butterfly” and that suits him just fine. Passionate for the community, Matt can often be found volunteering at or attending community events, especially ones involving food! Always the adventurer, he looks forward to what’s next, while keeping his eyes and ears open around him.
