Windsor-based proptech company Resimate has been selected as a finalist in Round 5 of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Housing Supply Challenge. This milestone comes with $3 million in funding, empowering Resimate to continue its groundbreaking work in streamlining the development of additional dwelling units (ADUs) across Canada.

This year’s challenge saw an incredible 252 solutions submitted from across the country, all aimed at addressing Canada’s critical housing shortage. Of these, 18 semi-finalists were selected and awarded $1 million each to further refine their solutions, and nine – including Resimate – received $3 million each and moved on to the finals.

In March 2025, three Game-Changers will be chosen to receive an additional $5 million each.

ADUs – secondary units on existing properties – offer a promising solution to the nation’s housing challenges, providing homeowners and municipalities with innovative ways to increase housing supply while preserving neighbourhood character.

Resimate’s platform simplifies the complex process of designing, permitting, and building ADUs, removing barriers that typically lengthen the time to build and drive up costs. With partnerships with ADU manufacturers across the country, Resimate is able to connect homeowners with various models that fit their unique needs, in a turnkey service that is typically unavailable.

With this funding, Resimate will enhance its platform to make ADU development even more accessible, sustainable, and efficient. The focus is on delivering tools that support municipalities in managing housing demand while empowering homeowners to unlock the potential of their properties.
