Funding Your Startup Workshop

Essential to starting a company is the ability to obtain sufficient funding to start and grow the business. Please join us for a workshop that will explore key options for funding your startup. Participants will get an opportunity to discuss angel investors, mentorship and funding for early stage companies.

This interactive session is presented by Windsor Essex Capital Angel Network, Pocketed Grant Platform and Small Business & Entrepreneurship Centre, with funding provided by the Government of Canada under the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy in Windsor-Essex.

Deborah Livneh Eng. MBA

Deborah Livneh Eng. MBA is the Executive Director of Windsor Essex Capital Angel Network (WECAN), the Windsor’s angel investors group. She connects investors to promising innovative early-stage companies and helps entrepreneurs access capital.

In the past several years, Deborah has been mentoring Startups on accelerating their innovation to market and advising them on getting ready to pitch to investors. She serves as Mentor-in-residence at VentureWell Aspire Medtech program USA, as well she serves as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at WEtech Alliance. Livneh is a co-founder of the Detroit-Windsor MedHealth Innovation Cluster.

Deborah Livneh co-founded a medical technology company. She sold it to a publicly traded US medtech company and had led the Canadian plant of the multinational Olympus Medical Corp.

Aria Hahn, CTO & Co-Founder, Pocketed Grant Platform

Aria is passionate about data and believes that combined with intelligent statistical and computational technologies, data hold the answers to many burgeoning questions facing multiple industries today. Aria has built tech to solve technical challenges for multiple industries and is now helping to scale technology for Pocketed, a company focused on democratizing access to over $2.9B annually in grant funding in Canada. In 2021, Pocketed has been named a 2021 ‘Emerging Rocket (ICT)’, featured in The Globe & Mail, interviewed by CBC Radio, and recognized as a Fast-Growing BC Business by The Peak.
