PRIZE: Chance to win $50,000* & Then Some
ABOUT: University and College students can apply for a 24-hour coding competition called HackWE hosted by WEtech Alliance, St. Clair College, University of Windsor, Hackforge and Daedas. Local energy analytics company— Daedas —will present the challenge to design apps using residential electricity data from smart meters.
SCHEDULE: Saturday Morning Kick-Off: Arrive at the TD Centre at 9am. Teams assigned. Instructions given. Each team has an embedded Hackforge facilitator.
Saturday Night: Participants will program through the night. Food provided.
Sunday: Programming continues. After lunch teams present their apps to a panel of friendly judges that include local industry, government and community partners.
PRIZE*: HackWE apps will be entered into the ENERGY APPS FOR ONTARIO CHALLENGE with $50,000 in prize money! Top apps will be showcased during the Windsor-Essex TECHTOBERFEST on October 29th featuring Google and Blackberry. Best team invited to dinner with local tech execs.
