The “Made in Ontario” Advanced Manufacturing R&D Challenge will support five to seven qualified projects (each up to two years in length) that undertake research and development in the Ontario manufacturing sector.
OCE will provide funding of up to $100,000 per project. To qualify for OCE funding, academic applicants must secure a minimum of 2:1 cash and in-kind matching from industry . The cash contribution must be equal to the amount of funding requested from OCE (i.e., if OCE contributes $100,000 per project, the industry contribution must be a minimum of $100,000 cash with an additional $100,000 in-kind.
NSERC CRD grant will match the cash contribution from industry, less overhead*, up to twice the net industry cash if the in-kind contribution is at least the same as the net industry cash. See sample calculation below for NSERC CRD grants.
