What is Parallel 42 Systems? What products/services do you provide?
Parallel 42 Systems is a software company. We develop various types of websites and apps, and they’re a lot of fun, but we also help our customers with more fundamental challenges. A lot of organizations struggle to properly leverage their data: sometimes it’s costly and time-consuming to get it into the right condition for analysis and reporting, or other times it’s locked up in a third-party format that can’t be easily accessed with off-the-shelf tools.
What type of customer are you looking for?
We just launched a new community-focused website, explorewe.com. It’s a different take on community exploration, and allows residents and visitors to see our region through different lenses: from active lifestyle, to public transit, to amenities and activities. There’s even an authentic-looking heritage map that looks and feels like an old, dusty map.
What type of customer are you looking for?
We got our name from a place in Point Pelee National Park, where the 42nd degree of latitude passes through. It’s also the only part of Canada that crosses the 42nd parallel.
What type of customer are you looking for?
Our typical customer is an organization struggling with software and/or data problems. We do a lot of work in the non-profit and community sectors, probably by virtue of our own personal community involvement, but our customers come from a range of different industries.
What’s your favorite technology gadget and why?
As mobile app developers, we’re biased here. We think smartphones and tablets are poised to fundamentally change the way information is gathered and consumed, and mobile-friendliness is a central component of our strategic focus.
Why did you join WEtech Alliance?
We joined WETech to connect with a network of professionals, from early-stage startups to seasoned entrepreneurs. We have acted as mentors, and have been mentored ourselves. It’s been a very productive relationship for us.
