We are pleased to announce the launch of our Supply Chain Advancement Network in Health’s (SCAN Health) annual, virtual business case competition hosted by the Odette School of Business, University of Windsor, Canada. Student teams may register at no cost now on our secure online platform.
This virtual, international competition is designed to build leadership capacity for excellence and innovation in supply chain and logistics strategies in the next generation of health system executives. The competition will bring together the best business school teams in the world to mobilize knowledge and create solutions to advance supply chain capacity in global health systems.

The Teams: The competition is open to teams comprised of 2-4 undergraduate/graduate/MBA students.
The Case: The case is based on a real-world challenge and designed with one of the largest, leading health systems in the U.S. Participating students will take the role of a consulting team advising this leading health system on the development of a cybersecurity strategy that is inclusive of the supply chain.
The Registration Process: Registration is now open and student teams can register online for free at https://scanhealth.ca/scan-main/virtual-case-competition/. All case materials can be accessed and submitted through our secure online platform when Round 1 begins on January 13, 2020, and closes on February 2, 2020.
The Judges: The competition’s Panel of Judges includes distinguished academics, health system leaders, industry experts, and policy-makers with distinguished knowledge and expertise in global health system transformation and supply chain strategy.
The Prizes: The first-place team will be awarded $4,000, second place $2,500, and third place $1,000.
The Profile: The winning team will be announced at the HIMSS Global Health Conference 2020 in Orlando with 45,000 participants from international consulting firms, business solution providers, technology vendors and much more! The top 3 winning teams will be invited to a SCAN Health event and widely profiled across the SCAN Health elite network of health system leaders, policy-makers, academia, and industry.
The Organizers: SCAN Health is an international knowledge translation platform funded by the Government of Canada, Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) and hosted by the University of Windsor’s Odette School of Business. Spanning five countries, including Australia, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada – and with over one hundred partners from industry, healthcare, government, and academia – SCAN Health will advance global capacity to adopt and scale best practices in healthcare supply chain to offer traceability of products and care processes from bench to bedside to patient outcomes.
