Windsor-Essex is shining a big bright weeklong spotlight on the local tech community.
TECH WEEK YQG is a showcase of all things tech spearheaded by WEtech Alliance that brings together tech leaders and entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, and the broader community.
The mission of TECH WEEK YQG is to promote, accelerate and celebrate our local tech community while providing unique perspectives from world-class speakers on what the future of tech holds.
“Our regional tech community is so dynamic and so diverse that we cannot wait to tell some of the amazing success stories and tackle together some of the challenges,” says Yvonne Pilon, President and CEO of WEtech Alliance.
The week kicks off with TECH LAUNCH, a 360° live panel discussion on the State of Technology in YQG. Tuesday is our TECH SHOW that focuses on Artificial Intelligence – anything from smart cars to smart homes – with keynote speakers from IBM, Amazon and General Motors and interactive Exhibitors and Tech Lounge.
“The quality of the speaker roster and the subject matter is top shelf,” says Matt Marchand, CEO of the Windsor-Essex Chamber of Commerce, a lead partner on the Tech Show.
Midweek shifts the focus to TECH TALENT with the region’s first Innovative Digital Competition followed by workshops on HR best practices, tools for growing tech companies as well as technical resume and interview workshops for prospective and current tech employees.
TECH GOLS – The Georgie Odette Leadership Symposium brings participants face-to-face with proven business leaders who speak on various aspects of successful leadership including tech guru Rory Capern who is the former Managing Director of Twitter Canada.
TECH WEEK YQG concludes on Friday with our 1st Annual TECH AWARDS and the CLOSING CEREMONIES for our 2nd Annual Nerd Olympics.
Tickets are available for purchase to both the Closing Ceremonies and Tech Awards. Note – nominations are still open for the Tech Awards, so be sure to elevate a colleague, entrepreneur or organization who has made a positive impact on the Tech Community.
