WEtech Alliance Presents the YQG Tech Awards Powered by AlphaKOR Group
The YQG Tech Awards powered by AlphaKOR Group are a fun, informal way of recognizing technology innovators of all stages for their achievement and success in our community. There’s no dress code and no speeches to give.
We’ll be honouring all of our Tech Award winners with a unique, Windsor-made Tech Award created with the help of our #YQG tech friends.
The second annual awards are part of a week-long celebration – Tech Week YQG – from October 29-November 2.
Eligible companies include all stages and sectors including: Advanced Manufacturing, Digital Media & Information Communication Technology, Life Sciences, Agritech and Cleantech.
The YQG Tech Awards provide a fantastic opportunity to showcase the impactful leaders in the local tech sector and to strengthen networks within the tech community. Close to 200 people will attend, comprising tech entrepreneurs, CEOs and tech start-ups, plus corporate advisors, investors, tech consultants and media. This year’s award will piggyback on the official Tech Week YQG kickoff party and the 3rd Annual Nerd Olympics “Nerd Cup” Ceremony.
NOMINATIONS PROCESS
Nominations will open August 28th and close September 18th. All nominations received will be compiled, with the top five (5) nominees going forward for public voting from September 24th to October 1st.
FINALIST VOTING DETAILS
Public voting will commence September 24th using the Facebook platform. Finalists are encouraged to share their respective award post and encourage friends and followers to vote. To help our judges make an informed decision, all 5 finalists in each category will be asked to complete a brief Finalist Questionnaire by Monday, October 1st, outlining why you are deserving of this award. This is your chance to BRAG!
After the public vote, the finalists will then go to the final stage of review – a panel of judges comprising of past Tech Awards Winners, AlphaKOR and members of the local tech community.. Judges will review the finalists in each of the Tech Award categories and determine 1 winner based on the following weighted value:

Tech Award Winners will be announced publicly October 29th at JP Wiser’s Brand Centre during the official Tech Week YQG Tech Launch Event. Award winners will be contacted starting October 16hth to inform them of their success. Each winner will receive two (2) complimentary tickets to the Tech Week YQG Kickoff event.
