About thirty members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada were on hand at the Ojibway Nature Centre on Tuesday night to listen to WEtech’s Irek Kusmierczyk talk about the need to expand the FIRST Robotics High School program in Windsor and Essex to prepare the next generation of innovators, engineers and technology entrepreneurs.
The talk began with a video of NASA’s recent rover expedition to Mars, underscoring the role of robotics in space exploration and innovation.
WEtech is working with regional partners such as the university, college, school boards, government and community stakeholders to expand the FIRST Robotics program into more area high schools in the region and establish a support system that will sustain the program in the region for the future.
