This season Windsor-Essex FIRST Robotics teams took on virtual format for challenges and awards. Below is a list of teams and and respective awards. Congratulations to all!
Ontario Provincial Awards: Chairman’s Award
The Chairman’s Award is the most prestigious award at FIRST, it honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the mission of FIRST. It was created to keep the central focus of FIRST Robotics Competition on the ultimate goal of transforming the culture in ways that will inspire greater levels of respect and honor for science and technology, as well as encouraging more of today’s youth to become science and technology leaders.
Sabre Bytes Robotics 772 from Sandwich Secondary School – Winner District Chairman’s Award – Awarded March 23rd – one of five teams in Ontario ( move on to Provincial Championships)

FIRST Robotics Competition Teams this year were given different Challenges from FIRST Headquarters including:
Game Design Challenge:
- Saints Bots 4688 – from St. Anne’s Catholic School – Winner Engineering Design Award
- Sabre Bytes Robotics 772 – from Sandwich Secondary School – Winner Imagery Game Design Award
- A Team Robotics 6455 – from Amherstburg, ON – Winner Designer’s Award
And Infinite Recharge at Home – ( submissions for team robots )
- A Team Robotics 6544 – from Amherstburg, ON – Winner Industrial Design Award sponsored by General Motors
FIRST Tech Challenge Teams (FTC) Awards
- Club Sandwich 16183 – from Sandwich Secondary School – 2nd Place Motivate Award
FIRST Lego League Challenge – Windsor Remote Event
- LaSalle RosieBots 22062 – Community team from LaSalle, ON – Winner Innovation Project Award
- Brave Robotics 3000 – Community team from Windsor, ON – 2nd Place Champions Award
Both teams moved onto the FLL Provincial Championships
- Brave Robotics 3000 – Community team from Windsor, ON – Provincial Championships – Winner Motivate Award and moving on to FLL Canada Cup in June.
