WEtech Alliance and partners are pleased to announce registration is now open for the first-ever Founders Week YQG (beta) set for November 8-13th in celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Founders Week YQG (beta) – a collaboration between WEtech Alliance, WindsorEssex Small Business and Entrepreneurship Centre, EPICentre and Genesis Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre – is a free, week-long celebration that will bring together entrepreneurs, startups, innovators, changemakers, entrepreneurial support organizations, local leaders, and community to celebrate, educate, connect and build momentum and opportunity around our region’s startup community.
“We’re asking everyone who is invested on our city and county to join us in reigniting its entrepreneurial spirit and championing the regional startup community,” said Yvonne Pilon, President and CEO at WEtech Alliance. “The last 19-months have been particularly hard for startups and the business community. We hope Founders Week YQG serves as launching point for new, existing and aspiring founders that will drive the economic future of the region!”
Founders Week YQG (beta) is 6 days packed with over 40 free (virtual) workshops, fireside chats, networking opportunities, health and wellness sessions, town hall, awards, fun, perks, swag, and more.
The week is open to founders, entrepreneurs, changemakers, leaders, and community members who build the business community.
“It’s more than just high-growth tech startups. We want all entrepreneurs that play a role in building the business community. Whether you’re in tech, food and beverage, entertainment, health and beauty, consulting or retail, everyone is welcome,” said Pilon. “We are encouraging attendees who are founders themselves or those who have an interest in entrepreneurship or are looking to become a part of the startup community to register.”
In the spirit of Founders Week YQG’s mission; #FoundersFirst, all ambassadors, speakers and workshops will be led by regional entrepreneurs and supported by entrepreneurial support organizations.
“Entrepreneurs play a critical role in Windsor-Essex’s economic growth,” said Claudius Thomas, Founder of Turaco Web and Founders Week YQG Ambassador. ” As a founder myself, events like Founders Week are an incredible opportunity for our community, our ecosystem and our local entrepreneurs to come together to learn, celebrate and connect.”
Organizers are hopeful Founders Week YQG will become an annual signature event.
“Our goal is to see Founders Week YQG turn into a big, annual, week-long in-person summer party one day,” said Shriaa Sheth, Manager of Programs and Events at WEtech Alliance. “We are looking for partners and sponsors who want to help us build momentum within the startup community and support this regional movement.”
The Job Shoppe, Libro Credit Union, Baker Tilly Windsor LLP, and Workforce WindsorEssex are among the incredible sponsors who have already come onboard to support Founders Week YQG.
The first 100 people to register will get a free 6oz bottle of Windsor-made Halo Heats spicy condiment.
