On behalf of WEtech Alliance and EZY Mode, thank you to the almost 200 participants and teams from all across Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent that registered for the “Future is Smart” TechConnect Minecraft Creative Build Tournament!
In 3 short days, we have literally seen future cities and neighbourhoods being built, creativity and imagination activated and storytelling brought to whole new level.
Our judges spent hours reviewing each build and were absolutely blown away by the attention to detail and story development.
“We aren’t surprised by the creativity on display for our first Minecraft build tournament. We have always been a region of makers and builders and growers.” said Adam Castle, Director of Venture Services for WEtech Alliance. “What did surprise was that every single build was so impressive, our judges needed a few extra days just to deliberate!” he added.
And now, without further ado, WEtech Alliance is pleased to announce the award winners (in no particular order) in our first ever TechConnect Minecraft Creative Build Tournament!
Where’s Our Time Machine Award (Individual)
This award recognizes the build that made our judges most want to hop and skip through time, just to see the build come to life.
Winner: NorthernLukas
Eureka Award (Individual)
This build demonstrates the ability to solve big problems experienced by the masses and has potential to scale to meet those needs.
Winner: Danielis3
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work Award (Team)
The winner of this award had to do 3 simple things.
1) Build as a team (hence the teamwork thing)
2) Design a build that made even our most discerning of judges tremble with awe.
3) Build with community in mind, exhibiting a keen sense of a future built to lift our community to the next level.
Winner: Team LemonSharks
WEtech Choice Award (Team)
This award celebrates the most creative and eye catching build that resonates with our team at WEtech Alliance.
Winner: Team SquadW
