Collapsible rain barrel tests waters in three The Home Depot stores in London
Leamington, ON May 21, 2012: Ron Elliott, President, Elliott Energy Services, Inc. is pleased to announce the Unbarrel ™, their patented collapsible rain barrel has been selected for test marketing, starting this month, by The Home Depot, Canada in all three of their London, ON stores. The invitation follows a series of meetings with The Home Depot’s representatives as part of the “Innovation for Sustainability” a two year program that brings together The Home Depot, the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT), the Quebec Ministry of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade (MDEIE) and Summerhill Group to bring innovative products and technologies to market.
Ron Elliott: “We are thrilled and honored to have been invited to test market our new product with such a world-class retailer. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Summerhill for helping us, and other small environmental businesses, to work with The Home Depot and we especially owe this success to the help from the WEtech Alliance and their Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Deborah Livneh. We believe our Unbarrel ™ has a great future as a rain barrel, and as a potable water container for recreational use, disaster relief and for the military. We want to develop and manufacture it in Essex County; so hopefully we can create some long-term jobs, as well.”
The Unbarrel is a 320L. collapsible rain barrel that stores during the off season in a 60x50x20 cm. space. It will handle sloping (up to 30 degrees) and uneven ground and requires no leveling blocks or Ground preparation. No tools are required for assembly or take down.
